| The effects of fuel spills and
leakages into the soil are divers, and often severe; both in terms of the ecological damage, and the cost of remediation. There
is a need for better (earlier staged and more reliable) contamination detection
systems in today's market and hence, risk management solutions.
Airport Emission Control offers an online monitoring system that continuously
monitors the quality of the soil and air at installations with a potential risk of fuel spills or
leakages. The monitoring is provided by sensors that detect the presence of kerosene in the soil. In case of
detection, the control room will be alerted immediately.
The system is an unique tool for aircraft fueling companies for early warning of soil pollution due to spills and leakages in the kerosene distribution chain on airports. The sooner the detection, the less
damage.
